I recently got a Senior Citizen (politically correct) Roundhouse Dylan. At the recent MSSLS steamup, several of us looked for the steam oil reservoir and couldn't find it. However, there is a large nut on top of the cylinders. Fill each with steam oil? Any ideas?

Bill, look HERE. Review states "A good-size lubricator stands on the footplate". Pictures toward the bottom of the page shows what it should look like.

Bill,
A few years ago at the Sacramento Summer Steamup, a bunch of us were trying to help a fellow live steamer with his 'new to him' Swiss locomotive.
The main concern was 'where is the lubricator'?
Well finally we had to call Jerry Reshew who (if I recall correctly) had sold the locomotive to this gentleman.
It turned out that it has some kind of teflon pistons, or rings, or 'something', that meant that it did NOT require any cylinder lubrication at all.
Maybe yours has been likewise modified?
Do you know any history as to where it came from?
Good luck,
All the best,
David Leech, Delta, Canada
