These are what I use. I can overfill it and run it all weekend, but you get better smoke if you run less fluid. In fact, I just won a used Pola farm house in the club raffle and there was one of these glued in-place under the chimney and a hole was drilled through the roof to fill it.

I like to use stone impregnated roofing paper. I buy it in grey and leave it that color or paint it black. Real easy to work with and easily cuts with a mat knife.

An update.
The supercaps arrived from the Far East today. These are rated at 6 FARADS at 2.7 volts (2.85 volts surge). But BION, they are only about the size of a 20 microfarad, 50 volt cap!
I wanted to be able to "pre-charge" the system through the original 6 vol......

I do this on the Tortoise & Lizard Bash. This shows the routes we run. I built three reversers into my control panel (one for each cab) and can do automatic point-to-point between any two back-to-back sidings because they all have diode protection.
