Jameel, forget about the meshes, the burners work fine as they are. The jets must be clean, otherwise you will have flameouts or one burner going out. But the jets are just like on the Ruby, except there are two of them. I found these adjustment gauges on the lubricators pretty pathetic and useless.......

Jameel, do not worry, K-36 is like two Ruby's! Just make sure that both burners (each for one Ruby) are lit. That's all. Best wishes from Tokyo, Zubi...

Reid, possibly the best way to make your own live steamer is to start with cylinders from Roundhouse, many professional builders do that. Also, you can buy entire chassis from Roundhouse, but if you have budget constraints and can do machining work, consider getting the essential parts from Roundhou......

David, thanks for posting the unedited manual. A few days ago, I finally received Tenmile, San Juan came three months ago on Christmas Eve, what a great timing. I could hardly believe, in fact, I still can hardly believe that these locomotives were actually made. Many thanks for your great contribut......

Little I knew what would happen two days later. I wish it......

Joel, I did not know that you have a coal fired K-28. Actually, it will be difficult to do a prototypical installation as you need to be able to remove the smokebox cover... So the centre rod going to the bracket under the lamp will be in the way! This is I suppose why they did not place that bracke......

George, could you try the same with deionised water? Many thanks, Zubi...

Joel, there is a mounting bracket under the lamp. Everything fits beautifully and there is no need to remove any part of the original deck or cowcatcher! Best wishes from Tokyo, Zubi...

Right, and distilled water (depending on the distillation grade) has even less ions than deionised water and is potentially even more dangerously pure. Deionised water and distilled water are both unhealthy for your boiler, use soft tap water. This has been debated in great depth in the thread linke......
