Long story -- wanted to do a DJB coal-fired on an Edrig chassis, but he sold out before I got the chassis. So I begged Roundhouse for the top half of Bertie for "Egbert." Then DJB did another run and I got one. So I begged for the other half of Bertie . . . No normally a kit, but Roundhouse will sup......

Hi all,
For reasons that are long and not particularly entertaining, I bought a Roundhouse Bertie in halves, first the the boiler, burner, etc., and then the cahssis. I am at the point of assembly where I am attaching the lubricator to the superheater tub......

Just a suggestion, but when lighting firey toys, squat down and light from the side. Don't bend over and stare into the barrel. Something I learned with gunpowder about 45 years ago -- when a 14 year old could buy gunpowder. Regards, Mike...

Sorry, not in the measuring cup -- You mix them in the mixing bowl. (I have a BS in math, but I've spent a lot more time in the kitchen than the classroom in the last four decades.) I am assuming you are using a smaller measuring cup and mixing in a larger container. But maybe not -- I know zilc......

Gentlemen, please -- When in doubt, follow the instructions -- here the recipe. The recipe http://www.quantumsilicones.com/PDFs/data/QM%20130T%20Data%20Sheet.pdf says mix 10:1, silicone to catalyst, by weight. If your 2 lbs. was one batch, then two lbs. = 32 ounces -- add 3.2 ounces of......

The Carette was indeed lovely and ran like a champ. Plus Mike is a wonderful fellow and a wealth of knowledge. The garden track (around the planter) gets a surprising amount of use, especially with those who are tinkering or just want to avoid congestion on the main tracks. And, at about 4 feet......

Is it a sign of old age that I try to buy my beer at stores that have been busted lately for selling to minors, so that they now ID even grey-haired old men? During the depression, my grandmother was a widow supporting four kids as a postmistress in central Florida. I still have the .22 with the......

Dear Mad, I can't stay away from oak trees, unless I leave home. Three acres on a hilltop, wooded on the back and my wife won't let me play on the front (in public). But, I've gradually cleared a roughly 30 x 80 foot oval area on one side, hedged in with azaeleas and, iron plants,......
