RE: FLYING YANKEE
The engine produced for large scale needs large diameter curves and switches. Both front and rear units have motors, thus if modifying for DCC, 2 decoders would be needed. All metal construction on the Zephyr....

RE: Installing Phoenix Sound System - LGB 2080D
The 2080 has a cavity at the front of the boiler to allow sound from a small round speaker to come out the front at the pony truck. Since you are only adding sound, no fancy wiring change needs to be done and there is plenty of room in this engine. There is a screw under the boiler above the front......

RE: Using other peoples' layouts
I made a circle with 2 8 foot rails. It came out to 32 inch diameter and each rail had only one rail clamp. No power loss for joiners here!!!!! Easy to transport also, nothing to come apart!!! Next will be 4 foot rail with 2 foot straights between the half circles....

RE: LGB Digital only
Easiest way to check LGB decoder model is with the computer interface. Upper right hand corner shows decoder type and version number. So, if you can read out CV7 and CV106 someone could tell you the decoder type. Unfortunately the LGB system containing just the 55015 or 55015 can not do CV reado......
