As you can see, the concrete roadbed for the main loop is laid. Track was loose laid on the roadbed in preparation for the Golden Spike ceremony in September of 2007. The photo is as of April 10, 2008 after the winter snow had melted. This portion of the layoput came through the winter with no problems at all. The wide concrete pad just on this side of the lower walkway tunnel is the beginning of the branch line running to the San Rafael yards.
Projects for the summer of 2008 include.
1. Removing the sod in the middle of the loop and removing soil to bring the earth level with the concrete roadbed.
2. Removing a strip of sod outside the loop and final grading in preparation for plantings.
3. Installation of the concrete roadbed as a base for the San Rafael yards.
4. Track laying for the San Rafael yards.
5. Installation of the drip irrigation lines serving this area.
6. Planting of this area.
7. construction and placement of structures serving this area. | | | Permalink | Trackback |
