Today...after some thought...an excavator was brought in to start on new double tracking.  Was decided to start this before track is being layed , as it will help in leveling and tying in the  concrete road base,  least that is what the road boss says.

 

 

 

 

 

After the right of way is  cleared ....leading up to the rocks of the mountain....the forms will be set in place to pour the concrete.  This it is hoped will be done fairly soon and then the track laying could begin. 

 

 

 

The hard part comes later....blasting thru the mountain area....and then building a new right of way along the edge to connect with the upper side.  Also a tree has to be removed before the right of way can continue towards link up.

 

 

This is sort of what I want to try to create ...this was taken at a train show ..it is HO...but I would like to see what I can do in large scale with it.  Mine will only be single track at this point....the rock tunnel will be to the right and the slide shed to the left.  Have a lot of rocks to move,  but nothing new to doing that.
