8 years ago this week, I quickly threw together a site so all my train junkie friends could get together and shoot the breeze.  It's been quite a ride since then.  In the beginning we had about 500 visitors per week.  Now, over 5000 large scale enthusiasts visit myLargescale.com every week.  The collective amount of knowledge shared in our forums is second to none.  Ask a question and get an answer if not several answers in less than an hour.  Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that the website I quickly put together in a few afternoons would grow as large as it is today.

The last few weeks have been busy ones, with two large scale shows and summer getting into full swing.  Stop by the Large Scale Events Forum to check out reports and photos from the shows.  We've had a good influx of new members since the shows, and I'm hoping that many of you found us by talking to us at the booth at the Big Train Show.  As a welcome to all the new members, we're offering an upgrade to our 1st class membership for only $20.  There's no need to enter a special promo code or have a secret password.  Just head on over to the signup page and the discount is already applied.

The latest winner in the photo of the month contest is Jason Kovac.  Congrats!  Jason wins a $50 gift certificate to Wholesaletrains.com for his win.  Make sure you stop by the photo contest to vote in the latest contest and enter your own photo to win.  Garden Railways magazine isn't doing their contest this year, so make sure you enter your photos here at myLargescale.com.

Finally, head into the forums and let us know where you think our engineer Emmett is visiting.  This one should be an easy one.  I expect it to be guessed within minutes.   But you never know!
