I chased UP #3985 from Cheyenne to North Platte on Sept 18. It was a good if somewhat hectic chase. There were about 20 cars chasing it with me, and I often had to pass about 10 cars on a narrow two lane highway to get to the next run by. Here are some of my shots.

I think that they had to adjust the brakes on the two engines, but other than that it was running well.
There is a nice new tower in North Platte. For $6 you can go to the top and get a really great view of the yards and countryside.

I couldn't stay for the Rail Road Days that weekend which looked really interesting.

You did get some very nice photos. My wife, I and two Grandsons chased the 3985 East out of Boone Iowa a couple of years ago. One Grandson said it was the most fun he ever had, that mad my day.

Thanks guys. Leon, nice to see your photos. I suppose you loaded up at the souvenir car. They have alot of nice stuff. I really like their hats and T Shirts.

Some guys go hunting for big game in the Fall. I like to chase iron monsters. I look forward to it's return to Cheyenne.
