I remember REA, including their trucks and the depot they had at the east end of the Penny's Sunnyside yard. I also remember that when we went on vacation by train in the 40s, my mother packed a large trunk that was picked up the day before we left home and delivered to our hotel 2-3 days after we arrived. There was a similar delay on the return to home. I don't know where the delivery delay occurred but is always struck me as less than "express" service.

Don't anthropomorphize your trains. They hate that.

John,

Some years ago, some of the present-day Aristo Craft G gauge product line was sold under the name REA Express. This includes the green REA caboose that you saw on Ebay, which is now known as the large steel-style Aristo caboose ( a great caboose ). Aristo continues to use the REA red diamond-shaped logo.

cheers

To add to Richard Smith's Air Farce posting, I think it was the Readers Digest that ran the following:
Mr. Jones has been promoted to a detective on the Police Farce.

Mr. Jones wrote to the paper and demanded a correction. They obliged. 'We regret the error. Mr. Jones is a defective on the Police Force'.

My brother was in the US Army Air Force during WWII; at times I have my worries.
