My wife wanted a quick and easy Web site for her 4th grade class that she could update herself without having to learn any HTML. I had come across the new Google Sites and played around with setting up a site just to see if it was something that fit my wife's requirements.

It's free and a fairly easy way to throw together a quick web site without having to know any HTML.

The above is a test site I created just to play around with the interface.

Best,
TJ

Not at all shabby!

Let's see if you can link to the photos from here:

"If Christianity was something we were making up, of course we could make it easier. But it is not. We cannot compete, in simplicity with people who are inventing religions. How could we? We are dealing with Fact. Of course anyone can be simple if he has no facts to bother about."-- C. S. Lewis

Torby,

I'm always amazed at how much free stuff there is on the Web. Between Google Sites, Google Docs, Acrobat.com it's amazing anyone is making any money. Cool freebie stuff abounds.

Best,
TJ

Just read most of your trestle PDFlinked though your new site-thanks for taking the time to make and post both.

How have the Titebond III glued trestle bents weatherd since installing a few years ago?
I'll be starting on a similar project in a month, and was intending to glue and 23 gauge pin or 18 gauge brad all connections.

Don,
The trestles on my layout have held up very nicely. If I remember rightly I installed the big Power Curve trestle in October 2006.

I glued as well as used 18 guage brads and everything is holding together fine on the big curve trestle and the earlier Dragon Falls trestle (August 2006).

I'm very pleased you found my PDF file on trestle building useful. Please post some pics of your efforts as I'd love to see them.

Very best regards,
TJ

Clive,

> Have just tried to set up a site

Seems to be working fine. Very nice pic of the Shay. I'm not familiar with the engine as shown on your on your home page. Is that an LGB?

Best,
TJ

Hi, Yes that is an LGB Meyer. I am very pleased with it. It has MTS and sound. I used to run a mix of mts, live steam and battery and will do again when I am on home leave in September. 14 days of major construction. Sorry about the delay replying the demon work demanded my time but it pays for the trains. Thanks again. Clive
