The place looks kind of empty!  I figured I had better post something here to get things started.

I had kind of hoped that the Bachmann 2-8-0 I ordered a week or so ago would have arrived today, but no such luck. 

That being the case, I think I'll take home the Bachmann SR&RL Forney (with sound) that is sitting here beside me and give it a brief test run on what will eventuaklly be my new layout.  I don't have anything but a single long, straight section of track in place at the present time, and it's not even the trype of track I'm planning to use for the layout, but at least it provides a decent "test track" until such time as I can get started on the real deal.
