Waiting on a final price quote on the following, for a pair of Aristo Craft
Rio Grande GP40's:

2 G-Wire recievers

2 QSI Aristo PnP sound boards

2 2.50" HP speakers

Would like to know if the above will operate using a Digitrax DCC system.
With either the DT300, or DT400R throttles? And a 5AMP power brick.
Or would I be better to get the CVP T9000 throttle instead?

Information much appreciated!
Thanks.

You might want to post this in the DCC section for more responces.

My understanding is the G-wire Recievers are for DCC battery power specifically the Airwire. If you are not going battery then you do not need these

The GP40's I would think have the speakers already in them.

As far as DCC control. You would need a complete DCC system if you are going to use track power. Or the Airwire and the G-wire and batteries if you are going battery power

If you go DCC track power you need a 10amp booster. Probably the NCE PB10 I think its called... its a 10 amp booster. Command station and throttle could be Digitrax or NCE or any other of your
choice. I will say the NCE is a pretty nice wireless throttle with the range improvements they made to it.

The GP 40's come with speakers installed. You don't need them unless you are tyring to upgrade them. I like the sound of the factory speakers.

As for the speakers, it's interesting.
I pulled one of my GP40's apart, so I could remove
the electrical plugs. Coupler interference.
Never saw speakers in unit while apart.
Will have to look again I guess.
Thanks.

QSI works on DCC, only add the G-wire if you are using CVP AirWire transmitter...

You can get by with a 5 amp booster, but normally will only allow one loco, kind of defeats the idea of DCC...

I use the NCE 10 amp system with 2 wired and 2 wireless throttles...

The Airwire throttle/GWire/QSI decoder will work off of track power. I've successfully used that combination and DC track power in two RS-3 and an E-8. I'm getting ready to install it in a Mallet.

Yes, but he asked what was needed for a Digitrax DCC system. An AirWire-compatible (Gwire) receiver is not needed for track power.

Remember the questions he asked, so this seems new to him, thus I did not list all the possible modes of a QSI system and add confusion.

Working on my other GP40 today. Getting ready to modify the electrical plugs.
Yes indeed, speakers included. I just didn't see them the last time!
Right below the first two fan housings, right behind the DB blister, covering
the motor, light, smoke switches etc.......

As for installing the parts I have ordered, it looks like I won't have much of a problem! Finding the plugs for just about everything I'll need.
More questions, if I have problems.
Looking foward to the addition of R/C and sound!! By the end of this coming week, I'm hoping!
