| Bruce, you are finally getting this discussion over to my style. Bluegrass first. Get the CD by the Seldom Scene, "Old Train" , Besides the theme song, another cut "Pan American" is awesome. I think they also do "City of New Orleans" My favorite album.

| Great songs guys, let's keep it going. I have made a couple of discc already, but I figure I will end up with quite a few. Then I wil put all the songs on one CD and creat a playlist from that. then we can choose at random which songs we want to play. We did thai at the last trrain show e did Feb.3rd, and it turned out great, I was running my Annie and playing the "Peticoat Junction " theme song and there was lady sitting on the floor with her husband and she was really enjoying it.

You know, I have heard that on the radio quite a few times here lately, and it never dawned on me. Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I have begun to associate it with the "Silver Bullet Train" for Coors lite.
Thanks mike

| Semper,
I agree with your comment about the music. It doesn't always have to be the words, it could by the tune and beat. For me, the best driving CD (not train related) is Pink Floyd Animals. I put that in the player... I gotta be careful. I've missed an exit more than once while gellin' in a mindless place.
Though music related, I mean what I'd love to run a loco to, or begin a run.
The title song from "Midnight Express" Soundtrack.
And the musical score when Jon Voit and Eric Roberts first spy the train coming out of the steam cloud in "Runaway Train"

| My favorite version of "Wabash Cannonball" is by Claire Lynch and the Front Porch String Band. "Way Out There" by Sons of the Pioneers (Pete Seeger's version is good, too.) Rhonda Vincent's "Kentucky Borderline" has already been mentioned, but is one of my favorites. "Steel Rails" "Bloodline" by Glen Campbell is rather obscure, but a GREAT train song. "Choo-choo-cha-boogie/ Freight Train Boogie" by John Denver

| | That was a cool video and the music was good too. A great instrumental. Sorry it has taken so long to respond, I have benn a little busy. I have discovered that when at a train show, it is very hard to hear the train music over the crowd and other trains running. So, I will just play the music thru the train at home. Thanks for the video link. Cliff | |

The Orangeville Station by the Rankin Family is my favourate.

Wish I could find a better, more complete video but it tells the story of a station that is closed. No trains stop here any more.
Must be a few of them around. | |

That was a pretty good song. It has a great beat to it. Thanks Dave. I have also discovered that i can adjust the speed of the train to match the beat of a song. It gets a little frustraring butn it can be done.

| Pete, I don't think it would be. Almost all of the music that was originally on 8-track,cassette, and Album has been changed to digital format, by now. If you can find the song on the internet ( best place to look ), you should be able to download it and burn it to a CD. I use BearShare, A file sharing program and alot of the songs are free to download. I limit what files are shared on my computer, (music only ), and I use Zone Alrm as my virus protection.

Thanks Rusty, I use BareShare. I tried limewire a few years back on an old computer, when I had dial-up. I guess I could try it now that I have cable, it would probably work better.
