To all DH Attendies:

I apologize for not getting an updat out sooner, but with the change over to the new format on the MLS website, I had difficulty logging in.  THANKS Dwight for setting a new password for me.

Yesterday Iris was released from the Hancock Hilton, ie, the hospital in Bay St. Louis.  She is on a very restricted diet but is being allowed to travel.

That afternoon I took them to the airport in Gulfport for their flight home to England.

Both Iris and David are VERY APPRECIATIVE of all the love, care and concern that was extended to them by all of you.

That's very good news Torry. Thanks. Hopefully Iris will fully recover without further invasive measures.

This is great news! The prognosis for Iris sure changed in a hurry. Margo and I were saying last night that we needed to give you a call. Thanks for the update, and for being there to help Iris and David!

Although I am still in Diamondhead, the weather is horrible and I won't fly in it, I called David about 4PM (England time ) today. He and Iris got home without a problem, although he sounded really tired.

Hopefully she will recover OK. Although the level of care in the UK is significantly less then here, the Dr. in Bay St. Louis has been in contact with Iris's Dr. at home, and it is expected that a US level of care plan will continue.

When David gets his username and password for the new MLS format sorted out, I am sure he will post updates.

Until I get home to Pueblo, hopefully by Saturday if the weather cooperates, I do not have good email capability, I can receive but not send. With this in mind, you can email David direct at david.bailey8@ntlworld.com.

Both Iris and myself would like to thank all our friends at Diamondhead for the help and kindness we recieved from you all, you are all TRUE friends.
Iris is slowly getting better and will see a specialist in the UK in two weeks time, she is still on a liquid diet.
We had made up our minds before we travelled to the USA that this would be our last Diamondhead, it is a sheme that Iris missed out on visiting with all of her lady friends, she is very gratefull for the cards, visits and presents she recieved in the hospital.
I again thank you all for your kindness and generosity during our stay.
best regards to you all

David,

Good to hear that you are both home again and that Iris is making progress. It’s every traveller’s worst nightmare to fall ill when away from home. It’s bad enough being admitted to hospital when you are home but in a foreign country where things are done differently, well it’s quite a worry.

Everyone at Diamondhead was concerned about you both and everyone wished they could do more. So it’s great news that you are both home again and Iris is getting better.

Please reconsider your decision about not attending another DH event. We all say ‘never again’ when the Hotel’s hot water system fails etc. but we all come back for more! I know that getting ill is a major concern when set against the trials of the Diamondhead Resort but where else could you meet a nicer bunch of people?

Very best wishes

David,

As Andrew said, when things go wrong out of country, it can be quite stressful and terrifying. Warm wishes and Godspeed to the both of you.
