Greetings Everyone,
What a great way to spend a Saturday, With great friends running trains but not any trains Live Steam Trains :D

This weekend at the Lorain Co. Fairgrounds in Wellington, Ohio is a fair of all things Live Steam, Like farm equipment, Logging equipment and of Course Trains.

I ran an Aristo Mike for almost 4 hours flawlessly and of course there were Moguls, Ruby's, A K27 and Shays and other large scale Live Steam offerings including Accucrafts newest 0-6-0 Switcher that was just released last week.

I will post a few pics here and then have a link to a folder so that you folks can few the rest if interested.

Oh Yes, a special thanks goes out to Jim Anderson of Cross Creek Engineering for providing the track, and all of the other hard work to make this event happen.

A few comments/questions.
I thought it was interesting that in one of your pictures there is a blurred train passing an "in focus" train - the wierd thing about it being, the shay is blurred and the mikado is in focus. Must be one fast shay! :P:w00t:
Im afraid you will have to do this whole event over because you didn't get any pictures of the new 0-6-0 running. We need proof that she works! How did it run?
Ok, now for a serious question. How is it operating on a layout at that height? How is it viewing a layout at that height? What height was it set at? I have had an idea for a portable but feared having it set that low would be an inconvenience. But if it worked well for you maybe I will start in on it!
thanks for the report and pictures!

Matt,
The Pic with the Shay passing the Mike, the shay was moving faster than the Mike due to the fact the Mike was running out of Steam and the Shay had just been pulled onto the main.

Operating the layout was actually quite easy it was about 14 inches or so off the ground and made viewing ok for kids and folks who were sitting on benches while folks who were standing had to crotch down which really didnt seem to matter to folks.

oh and the 0-6-0 was in the process of being fired up when I had to take off as I had some business here at home to tend to. but I was there from 7:30 this morning to just about 2 pm. When I talk to Jim Anderson tomorrow I will get you a report on how it ran. I'm just glad I got to help put some smiles on some faces today.

Until Later,
