| My trials wih this machine continue.
I was finding it so difficult to light the conventional way that I adapted a piezo electric system from a barbeque ignitor to put a spark right onto the burner. Still no joy - when I take the burner out and try to light it on the bench, I find that I can light it at a very low level but as soon as I open the butane valve it blows itself out. I'm guessing that this is all to do with inadequate mixing of air with butane after the jet but not sure how to move forward from here. Any ideas much appreciated!
For fuel, I'm using pure butane and I've tried various temperatures for the water bath......

| Robert,
Be sure to clean the gas jet out (the backwards with compressed air or gas deal). The symptoms you describe are quite characteristic of the aster burners when they become clogged. | | -ryan SA #1361

| My K4 and others have always been difficult to light.
Light with the smallest flame possible and then wait a few minutes before turning up the burner. the aster 3 truck shay has the same issue
