| This weekend i am going to try to re-time my accucraft mogul, and I thought I would ask the experts for some tips. From what i was told there is lines cut into the valves that should line up with the valve body when the valve moves to the very forward most movement. Is this the case? any tips or tricks would help I have never attempted this before. (although i do not think I could make it run any worse)

| Dave,
thank you for the information, I re-timed it this afternoon and it now runs very smooth forward - reverse is still very ruff but i can live with that. It took allot of trying to set the valves, I am not sure what I did it just started to run very well. (sometimes its better to be lucky then good)

But the equation is unsolvable as is...
The usual way of making that statement is:
It is better to be lucky than good.
Which means one is better off relying on luck, in opposition to relying on being good.
The way it is stated, one is better off to rely on being lucky first, and later rely on being good.
The word "than" is comparative, and "then" is sequential.
Personally, I like the "then" version as I intend to gain skill to eliminate luck, but I sure appreciate luck to get started!
