| | Sorry if this was covered earlier, but does anyone know of a source for decals for the black 9f. I've finished the build and want to add the last touches. |

I know, I know she never ran with 'Black Prince' shields but my preserved one does also some pipes painted copper and front lamps fitted.

Some extra copper pipes fitted to the injectors and the pumps painted Black, I also painted the bypass valve Black as it looks unsightly.

Thanks - I like your detailing . I've run her on rollers and everything worked well after I fixed the leak at the bottom of the sight glass! | | | |

| Tony or Andrew,
When you apply the customised decals/transfers to the locomotive, is it necessary to seal them? If so, what do you use and how do you apply it?

| Rob If you are never going to run the loco then no sealing coat is needed. Or if you are careful handling the loco if you steam it then the decals should stay put. But for safety sake I would suggest a coat of thin dull varnish. In the UK I suggest Humbrol or Precision. But if you intend to seal then test on an unseen area first using decals that are not required for the main docoration. | | | |

| Hi Rob,
Andrew probably recommends to seal them with a clear laquer but brushed on may show an uneven mark against certain light or you could airbrush it on, I would use a semi gloss if you can get it.
Personally I don't bother, my Aster Battle of Britain class has had them on for nearly 2 years now and it's well used and the transfers are good as new
