RE: Plug-and-Play Tsunami? Hi, just back from the Springfield train show. Bachmann was there with a C-19 running on rollers with sound emanating from it. I asked the Bachmann guys what unit they were using and he said it was the new Soundtraxx Tsunami Plug & play decoder and ... by Peter Osborne in DCC in Large Scale on 27 Jan 2013 03:23 PM

RE: Bachmann Brass Track I was making a minor change to my layout this year and purchased 3 of the 3-foot section, it being slightly cheaper than Aristo and the other alternative, I thought I'd give it a try. RE: 38210 Piko Mogul ?????? I agree with the comments above. It looks a lot better in person than the photos suggest. Disappointing that the tender has plastic wheels but I would have swapped at least one truck to power pickup anyway and for this price, they had to cut s ... by Peter Osborne in Product Reviews on 16 Feb 2012 11:15 AM

RE: Sound, Smoke and DCC Control One other observation. You list some 2 axle locomotives in your rooster. My experience is that running them under DCC over switches can be a problem. RE: Sound, Smoke and DCC Control I'm going to disagree on the MRC comment. The MRC wireless is a great solution for a garden railway, especially if you get a base unit and then place the wireless adapter in an optimal position for coverage. PRODIGY PRO-ELITE Item # 0001417 - First Look I had the opportunity to see and discuss the new unit at the Springfield Train show this weekend. RE: 38210 Piko Mogul ?????? I placed an order with Wholesale Trains yesterday. It's listed at $153 which is hardly a big gamble. DCC ready, which means installing my spare MRC 1819 sound decoder ($70) should be fairly easy. I'm hoping that the tender has power pickup also, ... by Peter Osborne in Product Reviews on 03 Feb 2012 07:24 AM

RE: Re-trucking a MDC/Piko D&RGW shorty wood caboose It's actually fairly easy to take the axels from the Hartland plastic wheels and use them with the Bachmann metal wheels. Just takes a few minutes and a little patience to use a spare axel as a driver to remove the wheels and swap them. Done it seve ... by Peter Osborne in Rolling Stock on 08 Sep 2011 07:57 PM

RE: Bachmann 2-4-2T which decoder sound card I'm hoping to use the Loksound Select in ths engine. I've not seen any reports on amperage, but based upon the interface they are providing, I'm hoping that the 1.2 amp rating of the Select will suffice. RE: Good basic dcc decoders? I think the MRC 1819 5 amp sound decoder which can be had for around $70 (http://www.jimsmodeltrains.com/-strse-172/MRC-1819-O-G/Detail.bok ) is a great option. Duh .... LGB Mogul DCC Question..... HELP. I sold one of my Moguls (26194) to someone on eBay and it seems that when I was using it on DCC, I changed CV29 to disable running on analog. RE: Indoor 13 ft x 16 ft shelf in 'G', can it be done? Yes. I'm assuming 13 inches by 16 feet? RE: DCC Power Supply What MRC 8 amp booster do you have? The older ADxxx has a pot that lets you set the voltage for G scale.
