RE: Kadee (#1- Scale) RC Coupler Install
Is this problem of not uncoupling caused not by the knuckle, but rather the action of the servo. If you look closely at the picture it seems that the servo is pulling the entire coupler to the right instead of opening the knuckle itself. If the knuc ...

RE: Floquil RIP
Any options for water based paints? I liked using Polly Scale because it was water based, and easy to use in a variety of water soluble products. I think Model Master line is not a water based product? Craig

RE: Diesel Bash Support - Outsourcing?
I've been thinking.. You might be able to use the messed up hoods as detail parts for the kitbashed hoods. So you're thinking of filling the gap where the center hood was with a styrene patch. But that patch is going to look bare compared to the gr ...

RE: Diesel Bash Support - Outsourcing?
Don't say you've ruined parts! I'm sure you didn't mess them up too bad... Use the two you cutup (and think you messed up) to practice learning the skills you need to successfully build the ones you want. I bet if you posted some pictures (when ...

RE: Diesel Bash Support - Outsourcing?
Posted By parkdesigner on 10 May 2013 10:01 AM   the real problem is, sadly, I have *never* had success with cut/sand/fill with plastic and stuff like Squadron Green. Just never. My goal here is to find someone who will take my coin, and ge ...

RE: Diesel Bash Support - Outsourcing?
Humm... What exactly are your projects? Just because you're away from home doesn't mean you can't work on projects. Think small steps instead of larger ones. Traveling for 60 days at a time, I'm guessing your checking your luggage so you should ...

Posted By Greg Elmassian on 08 May 2013 02:11 PM Dirk, is the difference between a spur siding and a single ended siding that the latter is parallel to the main line? Greg Greg, Per Dirk's request: I'll add my two cents and information.Per ...

RE: USAT auto carriers, mini review and some disturbing results
Greg, You might want to change your page to read "Overview" Based upon a 89' flat car. I'm not sure what the model scales out to be, but the prototype is 89'. I believe it's 20' 2" from the top of the rail to the top of the car as well. Craig

RE: BN GP30 Build
Posted By DKRickman on 01 May 2013 06:15 AM That's looking sharp, Craig. I'm glad to see you going the extra mile and improving the details. These large scale models can really show off the details, so it's great to see htem done so well. It's ...

Here's some more details to enjoy.     The original brake cylinder     I chucked it up in my dremel, and turned down the piston a bit to represent a released piston.   A little more work and its looking better   Adde ...

RE: Here's one for the books!
He sure doesn't know how to get off moving equipment! Don't ever put the leading foot down first! Always trailing foot hits the ground first that way it pulls you away from the tracks, and you don't stumble..

RE: BN GP30 Build
Kevin, Most likely it was a GP30 rebuild. The BN upgraded the GP30 fleet to have more up to-date microprocessors, etc. Most of them got reclassified as GP39's, but they still retain that classic GP30 streamline look.

RE: Repainting an LGB loco
AHH the horror the Red box brigade just fainted when you said you were stripping a LGB piece! ;) Go for it I don't care! :) I'd try 90% denatured alcohol before I tried brake fluid. The 90% stuff works much better than the 70% stuff. I've used br ...

RE: First locomotive for beginner
A GP 38 will pull just fine for your first loco. I stalled out my GP9 (same motor block) with 33 cars on a 4% grade in the rain (aluminum rail). You should have plenty of power with the GP38. A locomotive fleet can be slowly acquired, second hand ...

RE: Advise on styrene
For large 4'x8' sheets of styrene look up plastic suppliers in your telephone book. Most communities have some sort of plastic supplier. Some have better prices, and selection than others. When I picked up 2 4'x8' sheets of 1/8" and 1 1/16" thick, ...

If the OP is talking about these Then the answer is no one currently makes them in large scale. But BLMA does make them in HO scale so it shouldn't be too hard to up scale them.. http://www.blmamodels.com/cgi-bin/webstore/shop.cgi?ud=BQgHAAAJAgI ...
