Dear Friends:

I am ordering above catalogs.  For the LGB catalog to be free I need your certificate, which was in the shipment of the latest Club news letter mailed to me.  Since I can put all the catalogs into one of my next sahipments I will only charge US Postal Service mailing for the catalog (should be around $2.50).

All other will be charged the official price of the LGB catalog.

The Pola catalog is unfortunately not for free (member or not).  So the cost of the catalog is $15 plus US Postal shipping.

Contact me under 508-529-9166, send letter with coupon or letter/email with order:

And to think that Sears Roebuck and Mongomery Ward used to GIVE their catalogs away in order to make sales.

Maybe that's why Mongomery Ward is no more.

Ikea had free catalogs the last time I was there, but then they are a store with locations world wide. Not a niche market like model trains. I have had to pay for train catalogs for years, excluding the occasional flyer or friendly dealer giving me the former store copy.

I think Monkey Wards died BECAUSE they dropped the catalog! Sears on the other hand still gives out free catalogs... though the internet now is taking the place of the catalog of yore... too bad many retailers don't fully understand the utter power they could have in their hand if they would keep the web "catalog" up-to-date.

I agree that many in our industry have not understood the power of the Internet.  Granted, there are still improvement we could do, but in general it is quicker to update the info on the Internet than it is in print.

Oh well but many poeple enjoy still that printed version.  Some actually use it as a collectors item (could have recently bought all LGB catalogs in mutiples - but I guess I am not that much of a collector)  I put my money rather into a brand new V200 - though the wrong one.

A customer bought the older version with the spelled out Deutsche Bundesbahn and I ordered the new version with the DB logo.   I guess I need to order the older one and sell this one.  Anybody interested in a good deal?  Contact me.
