Was going to title this; What to do with intestinal flu , but decided that would really screw up searches!

A couple of summers ago I ordered new rubber belts for my 14" bandsaw... during the cooler months I didn't need them, but after our 2 week spring they loosened up again.
Yesterday I mounted them on each wheel and then had the urge to cut planking...
One thing led to another.... Aristo's 1:24 flat cars come with loads, they pop off easy enough, but leave holes in the floor...

From the smelter mill, concentrate is bagged in 200 pound bags.

Other ores can go by bin.

The 'tool' box on the bin end hides 2 more holes.

I may add corner bracing angle irons and tension bars across the bin... but I like the simplicity of the times.

I haven't decided to paint or stain or leave to age naturally and I see some more sanding is needed, but, it was a fun afternoon project.

The saw is back in order and my tummy is fine!

Happy Rails.
John
His friend Jerry Dillon looked up at the hillside and said, “There’s a big ledge, and the whole damned hill is a total wreck with quartz boulders of ore.”

Very cool looking and nice way to hide the holes.

Nice (afternoon) project! I like the idea of the duo use of bin an bag load transport; that will make a car you won't see every day!
