I saw someone with the locomotive and the cars at diamondhead, VERY NICE! I like them alot. (stayed at fort wilderness quite a few times in disney world when I was younger - too bad that I don't remember the training running though.)

Andrew,
That was me with the Fort Wilderness. Matter of fact you cought me at the end of your time lapse video running at the same time as the Mardi Gras train. Diamondhead Time Lapse I realize you are pretty focused running your coal fired Ruby. Everyone I have showed the video to says it is fun like playing where's Waldo.
Richard,
I remember talking to Richard about looking for the cars and I am glad you got them.
Was that Jason's engine and cars you bought on E:Bay? Nice find.

You have to be focused, that itty bitty coal fire needs lots of tending, if I even try to poke it with a wire or leave the firebox door open, you can hear the steam start to die down hehehe, GREAT fun though!!!

BTW, I can put up a VERY high res video of that timelapse (would probally be wmv), this is because It was made from DSLR stills (at medium res) that are still 2088 X 1448.

Maybe next year if I can get power to my camera and mini laptop, I will do an entire day timelapse! (played back faster lo, last video is 7 fps, maybe this time 15 fps or 30 fps loll) - definitely not enough time at diamondhead (5 days LOL) to do everything I wanted to. Each engine there is a work of art in there own way, worth studying and filming! Did anyone get any high res shots of Norm Saleys new scratch built coal engine, I mean wow!

Yes, hopefully one day I will acquire that fort wilderness engine... It is on the list lol

What a bummer the locomotive will not pull all  the cars in the set. I am going to order the over size cylinders for it hope that helps.

What locomotive are you talking about? I have a Fort Wilderness Live Steam Loco (jazzed up Ruby) and I only bought three cars because someone said that the ruby would never pull all that weight. Boy were they wrong! I need about four more to help keep the speed down!

It's true, that out of the box it was a poor runner in forward, but by reversing the ecentrics 180 degrees, I have more power than I need for just three cars. There is a whole thread somewhere in the archives about accomplishing this for Ruby's. But let me tell you, my FWRR will pull a very big load!

Scott
