It looks like "Tom" is a lot faster than my little logger and probably a lot more powerful too.

Eric its the same engine from the mid western kit running on sterno.  What really helped give it power was leaving a gap between the boiler and the outside wrap.  Without the gap the engine really struggled on flat.  I did the same to mine and what a difference.
